About The Calcutainer
An oracle of bizarre and unique calculations. It does not explain itself. It simply knows things — and tells you.
The Calcutainer is a coin-operated oracle of surprising statistics and bizarre calculations. It answers questions you did not know you had, and some you probably wish you had not asked.
What is The Calcutainer?
The Calcutainer is part of the Calcutainment ecosystem — a family of free, fast calculator websites. Every tool on The Calcutainer is free to use, requires no sign-up, and is designed to be both genuinely useful and genuinely entertaining.
The name is a portmanteau of calculate and entertainer — with a nod to Scott Joplin's The Entertainer, the ragtime piece that is mathematically precise underneath its apparent playfulness. That is the spirit of this site: rigorous math dressed up as a performance.

The Editorial Standard
Every tool on The Calcutainer must pass a single test: does it make someone say "I never thought about it that way"? If a calculation is merely useful, it belongs on one of the functional sites in the ecosystem. If it reframes something familiar in a surprising way, you'll find it here.
